The EITI Board agreed that Sierra Leone is ineligible for an extension of the commencement of Validation under Requirement 8.5 of the EITI Standard. Sierra Leone’s Validation was scheduled to begin on 1 July 2018. Validation will begin immediately and will take into account progress made up to 31 August 2018.

The Board agreed that the Democratic Republic of the Congo is eligible for an extension of its Validation deadline due to exceptional circumstances that led to significant delays in EITI implementation.

The DRC is eligible for an extension of its Validation deadline due to exceptional circumstances that led to significant delays in EITI implementation. The DRC’s Validation was scheduled for 1 July 2018. It will now begin on 1 October 2018.
