The multi-stakeholder approach is central to the principles and operations of the EITI, and it is reflected in how the EITI is governed and implemented. EITI implementing countries establish a multi-stakeholder group (MSG) – comprised of representatives from government, companies, and civil society – to oversee EITI implementation. Although the mandate of the MSG varies across countries, it is the main decision-making body.
Assessment of progress in implementing the 2019 EITI Standard
On 17 February 2022, the Philippines was found to have achieved a moderate overall score (80 points) in implementing the 2019 EITI Standard. The UK EITI Annual Review 2021 provides an overview of the UK’s progress in implementing the EITI Standard and features data on the payments between extractive companies and UK government bodies and agencies in calendar year 2020. The PH-EITI MSG, through the EITI International Secretariat, is seeking a competent and credible individual to enhance beneficial ownership transparency in the Philippines.
